I visited the office at 1424 Chestnut Street. I had a ligitimate complaint and the guard literally kicked me out and told me he was going to call the police. By the way I've been sober for 3 years! If this is a public service office it should be shut down immediately!! I'm sure the currently mayor of Phila. doesn't give a -----

I wish I could give these people zero stars. They literally provided no help just nothing but collecting information and never following through with anything…I hadn’t heard an update from these people since June 17th and when the person did call they just called to tell me they were goin to be on vacation.. i guess it’s very tiring doin LITERALLY NOTHING for the people in the community they claim to serve

Staff are On top of things great service just communicate don’t get anger help the assistance under stand exactly what you are trying to do , and not ,give as much details as possible and the job will get done !!!

First they approved me for free legal services then in a day before hearing one of representatives called me and said that they can’t do this because my previous attorney doesn’t take off her appearance at the court. They left me without any help and said that they never ever can help me.

My family and I are very grateful for the Philadelphia legal assistance office. Mostly we are grateful for Mr.Omeed and his hard work, prescience,and dedication for helping us. He was always available and went over and beyond to help me with my situation with the IRS. He is a great lawyer and an overall good person. I’ve been trying to get a lawyer from PLA since 2018 for the same case each time. they have claimed that they were looking for a lawyer to represent my case and nothing. They claim to only represent cases that are top priority (paying customers) my case is a custody/Domestic Violence case I’ve had someone (a woman) from this office tell me that I am the cause of the constant Verbal, Emotional, Physical abuse that I am subjected to, last year 2021 I tried getting help again from this place only to be strung along for months of them so called looking for a lawyer to be told 2 weeks before my court date that I would not have representation my abuser had a lawyer and the judge removed my 4 year old daughter from my custody because the abuser lives in a better neighborhood than me ( judge literally said those exact words) not because I was a bad or neglectful parent because of my zip code. I reached back out to PLA to inform them of the outcome of my case and I still haven’t heard anything back as of 02/22.
I said all of this to say if you don’t have lawyer money don’t even waste your time
